Filling and Packaging Equipment

Filling and packaging usually take place near the end of food and beverage production, after the product has completed the required processing steps and is ready for filling. The required filling and packaging equipment depends on the type of package:
- Bag-in-Box (BIB) aseptic fillers automatically fill and seal sterilized juice concentrates, wine, dairy products, sauces, and similar products in multilayer aseptic bags.
- PET blow molding machines heat PET preforms with infrared heaters, stretch them, and shape them into beverage bottles of different sizes using high-pressure air.
- Blow-fill-cap combi-blocks convert PET preforms into bottles, filling them and putting the caps on all in a single operation. Robots and conveyors transport each bottle directly from the blow-moulding station to the sections where it is filled and capped, so the bottle has less contact with the surrounding environment (which reduces the risk of secondary contamination) and requires less manual handling.
